M. Elizabeth Nolan (Beth) focuses her practice on real estate law and estate and probate matters. She has more than 25 years of experience in both areas.

In her real estate practice, Beth represents individuals and businesses as buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real estate. She also advises clients on matters involving land use, zoning, planning, and real estate compliance. Beth regularly represents clients before the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and other local bodies on matters involving real estate provisions in state law and local regulations.

Beth’s genial, approachable manner, her meticulous attention to detail, and her ability to explain complex transactions in understandable terms put clients at ease and gives them confidence in her legal guidance and skill. In contract negotiations and real estate proceedings, she is a strong advocate who vigorously protects and asserts her clients’ interests.

Clients value Beth’s understanding of the local real estate market and practices, which is due in part to her nearly 17 years of service as Weston’s last elected Town Clerk. Her responsibilities included supervising elections (including recounts), running town meetings, certifying official documents, and swearing in local officials — all of which she accomplished while practicing law full time. Beth became widely known and respected during her volunteer service in the position. In addition, she gained significant local knowledge and experience that makes her effective in representing clients in real estate and land use proceedings.

In the area of estate and probate law, Beth assists clients with estate planning, estate settlement and probate, and guardianships and conservatorships. Clients rely on Beth’s keen and sensitive attention to the familial aspects of estate planning. She and Tony Nolan work as a team in the estate law practice to ensure that clients identify and balance important short- and long-term family aims with estate tax mitigation goals.

Even before she began to practice law, Beth was highly regarded for her participation in local activities and organizations and for her warmth and compassion for friends and neighbors. Beth and Tony are admired for their steadfast dedication to being there for individuals and families, not only in terms of providing legal assistance but also by providing moral support in difficult times.
